Letter to a Grieving Mom

man and woman grief

If I should ask your family or friends if they are worried about you – what would they say?

Would they tell me that they have been really concerned for awhile now? That since the death of your child, you have been barely surviving? That you have been on a rollercoaster of emotions that doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon?

Would they tell me that you have lost a significant amount of weight – or perhaps the opposite is true and you have gained so much weight in the past months (or years) that they are concerned about your health?

Would they tell me that they do not know how to help you? That you sit in the same room, at the same dinner table, in the same car, but don’t talk because there doesn’t seem like there is anything left to say?

If I should ask you how you are doing, what would you tell me? That you are functioning… barely? That you are forcing yourself to get out of bed most days but it is a chore to get dressed? Maybe you haven’t gone back to work yet or if you have, you are dragging yourself into work – knowing you are not performing at your best. Do you tell me you are walking through the grocery store, your local Walmart or Target to do your shopping, but frankly, you are doing it without even thinking?

What if I told you that it doesn’t have to be this way?

I am here taking a stand for you – the stand that you can have a life worth living even though right now, you feel like you just want to crawl up in a ball and die.

I take this stand because I have spent time with mothers just like you. Mothers who felt just like you. Mothers who are now living lives where there are smiles and hugs, laughter, tears and joy amidst the sorrow.

These are the mothers who have found the path to healing in their grief. And these are the mothers who have shared their wisdom with me so that I can help you.

Are you ready to take that first step on the path to a life worth living?

I would love to talk with you and spend some time together. You can share your story and I will share what I can do to serve you.

Schedule a time with me and let’s chat – okay? Here is the link: Schedule a time to chat
