Think about it. Are we born to be fearful? I don’t think so. I didn’t see one ounce of fear in my new granddaughter who just turned a month old. She cries when she is hungry, she cries when she needs her diaper changed but other than that, she is pretty chill.
Her three year old sister though, has developed some fears…, fear of big dogs, fear of being left behind, fear of the horse that she wanted to ride until her daddy stood right at her side.
I believe most of our fears are learned… our parents tell us “don’t touch that or you will get burned”, “don’t hit your little sister (brother) or you will get a spanking”, “stop having a temper tantrum or you will have a time-out”. Granted, some fear is necessary for us to stay safe and get along in society, and thankfully our parents are teaching us those behaviors to keep us safe and sound.
Then there are the fears that we create that have no value except to make us feel badly about ourselves (or others). There is no truth to Fear… it is all made up… a story that we have created to limit who we are and what we can be on this earth.
I think it is much more powerful to make up more positive stories… stories based on Faith. If we can have a choice on what story we want to make up, why not make up one that makes us beautiful, powerful, fully loved, and with unlimited resources?
I knew that I wanted to write today’s blog post about living in Faith vs. Fear and as synchronicity would have it, I was walking down the sidewalk this morning when I met a woman who was sitting in a mobilized chair, chatting away with a man who was walking his dog.
I was immediately drawn to this woman’s cheerful voice, pretty face, and then I looked at her shirt… Faith was written all over it! I asked her permission to take a picture of her in her shirt and if she would be okay with me posting her picture on my blog post about Faith. She said “yes”, and then asked, “can I see the picture”. She smiled and told me that she had just lost 80 pounds! Without a moment of hesitation, I put my hand in the air and we high-fived her success! She was beaming with pride on her accomplishment and I was beaming because I was so happy for her!
I have no clue who this woman is, but she was definitely put on my path this morning to validate that Faith will beat out Fear any old day! She was not living in fear of gaining any more weight… she was living in Faith that she could be thinner and she was!
FAITH: Finding Awesome Inspiration To Heal.
- If you are worried about your finances (Fear) – stop worrying about it and have Faith… your financial situation will improve.
- If you are worried about your health (Fear) – stop worrying about it and have Faith… you will be healthy.
- If you are worried about your love relationship (Fear) – stop worrying about it and have Faith… you will give and receive love.
You see, whatever we put out there (in the universe) will come back to us like a boomerang… if you want Fear, go ahead and keep being fearful…but if you want health, happiness and prosperity, live in Faith! Once we believe and have Faith, we begin to take action to create what it is we want in our life… yes, it is that simple!
What is a story of Faith that you could share with us? I would love to hear from you!
Wishing you Faith filled with Love, Abundance, Peace, and Joy.
