Random Thoughts…

I had traveled for a couple of days earlier this week and as I sat on the plane flying home last night,  I decided to check out the airline magazine because I always seem to find a gem or two of inspiration in those magazines.  After flipping through the airline magazine,  I pulled out my Shape magazine and scanned the various articles and read the little tidbits that are sprinkled throughout the pages.  The following are some facts that I gathered during this not so academic exercise…

  1. Per the United Airlines magazine, a recent American Freshman survey found 75% of the U.S. students say they are more driven than their peers and 60% stated that they had greater leadership skills than their peers.
  2. Per Shape magazine’s July/August issue,  coconut water is good to hydrate the skin.  All one has to do is apply it directly on skin and the Vitamin A exfoliates and the antioxidants wage war against the free radicals which cause wrinkles.
  3. If you hold your breath while your face is submerged in the water when you are swimming, your muscles tense up and can make your legs sink.
  4. There are 3.2 million unintended pregnancies each year.  A poll by Sexual Health (per Shape magazine) states 75% of men and 82% of women don’t check their condoms for defects.

Aren’t these interesting facts?  The facts seem quite random but I think I have connected the dots…

  1. If you hold your breath when your face is in the water instead of breathing out into the water while you are swimming, you could drown when your legs sink…
  2. If you drown,  you will not be able to have an unplanned pregnancy…
  3. However,  if you do not drown, you could have a baby that you did not expect because you failed to check your condom for holes or other defects…
  4. If you do have the aforementioned baby,  that child will most likely grow up to be very self-confident and will probably think he/she will rule the world…
  5. When that same child is hitting his/her teens,  you will need to start dousing yourself with coconut water to rid yourself of the wrinkles and creases in your face from a) the years of deep frowning when they misbehave, b) the laugh lines from the “you cannot make it up” situations from being a parent,  and c) the sun spots from attending every practice and outdoor sports event that you signed your kid up for so that they could gain self-esteem and leadership skills…
  6. Which brings us right back to point #1 and full circle we go…

This is all making sense now, isn’t it?

Oh and another thing…

Humor is good for the soul…
